I had it on January 17, 1993. Scary, devastating and dangerous. After ICU, plasmapheresis, gamaglobulin injections and months of physical therapy, I started to come back. During treatment of plasmapheresis, they loss me and a code blue was issue to my room. I was lucky to have my dad by my side, who immediately lower the head of my bed and started giving the nurses instructions. My mom’s daily love and continuous company and support are critical in my recovery. Today, I cannot and will not take the Flu short and stay away from sick people. I try to eat well and exercise just to strengthen my body daily. I was once that 1 in a 100, 000, today I am glad to say I am alive.
